De l'autre côté du Périph'

Founded in 2008 by Laurence Lascary, De l’Autre Côté du Périph’ (DACP) made a name for itself with L’Ascension by Ludovic Bernard, a romantic comedy about a young Black man who sets out on an expedition to climb Mount Everest to prove his love. The film attracted over a million moviegoers in France (distributed by Mars Films) and was later picked up by Netflix for international release

.

Alongside feature film production, Laurence Lascary also produces the short film project Dans Mon Hall, which aims to give a voice to communities from working-class neighborhoods in France, as well as Talents Adami Cinéma, a short film collection directed by established filmmakers to highlight promising young actors.

The name of Laurence Lascary’s company, De l’Autre Côté du Périph’ (“From the Other Side of the Beltway”), reflects the kind of projects she’s interested in. “I like stories that have a modern perspective, whether in their subject or in their treatment,” she explains. “I want to tell stories about today’s France—stories that reflect its diversity.”

Among the latest productions, À la belle étoile, distributed by Bac Films, was released in February 2023. More recently, Zion by Nelson Foix, co-produced with Kiss Films and distributed by The Jokers, was released in April 2025 after being selected for the Les Arcs Festival – Work in Progress section.
