A group of young American activists travels to Paris to investigate the state of racism in the country of human rights. The film places the histories of the United States and France side by side, comparing Martin Luther King’s march with the 1983 March for Equality and Against Racism. Too often overlooked and forgotten, the march was organized in response to police violence in the Minguettes neighborhood of Lyon. A small group of 17 anti-racist activists set off from Marseille for Paris. By the time they arrived, the march had brought together 100,000 people.

Rokhaya Diallo is a prominent figure in the fight against racism in France. Deeply involved in community activism, she is also a journalist and documentary filmmaker. She campaigns against racism both in France and internationally, working with European institutions and giving talks around the world.
